Is VSD like a transformer

Is VSD like a transformer

(OP)
Hi

I am not a VSD expert and so need some clarification regarding the following please. I have 375kW motor being fed from an 11kV bus via a VSD. On the single line diagram is states "VSD 11/3.3kV"? Does this mean that the VSD acts like a transformer and that it is a 3.3kV motor?

Thanks.

RE: Is VSD like a transformer

It is possible. The VSD can incorporate an isolation transformer with one or more sets of secondary windings depending on the configuration of the drive rectifier.

So the motor voltage can be different than the supply voltage to the VSD in this case.
