Target-force definition

Target-force definition

(OP)
Hello everybody,

I have made a model for a suspension crossing for a pipeline. The towers are modelled with frame elements as well as the pipe. All the other elements are cable elements. I have watched the W&L clips and apllied a target-force in several cases: 1. target force on the main cable( only on one side of the crossing), 2.  target force on the vertical cables (hangers).
My first question is: What happenes if the force in the cables do not have the same value (not even close) as the one defined in the layout of the cable geometry?
In both cases of target force application I get the message: TARGET-FORCE ITERATION RELATIVE ERROR 145 and TARGET -FORCE ITERATION DID NOT CONVERGE
and at the end of analysis there is the warning MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TARGET-FORCE ITERATION REACHED
What can be done to fix these messages?
I would appreciate it if you have any helpful material regarding the steps in analysis of a suspension crossing.

Thank you

Bothul
