Could anyone suggest a suitable contactor for capacitor switching for upto 300kVAr rating at 400V, 3-phase.

It's possible to use LC1-F500 by Telemecanique designed
for switching capacitor banks.It has 400-440V, 50/60Hz,
300 kVAr rating. You may find it in Schneider or in Scuare D
catalogues,or site http://www.schneider-electric.com

You can also use an ABB EH700C-1.  It is rated up to 595A of capacitor nominal current.  You can visit ABB at www.abb-control.com
