Adding Holes on an inclined surface

Adding Holes on an inclined surface

Adding Holes on an inclined surface

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to put a counter-bored hole on an inclined surface that isn't normal to that surface. Instead, the hole is normal to another surface below the inclined surface.

Does anyone know how I can do this easily?

thanks,
windell

RE: Adding Holes on an inclined surface

Pick the surface the hole is normal to before picking the Hole Wizard.  Select your C'Bore parameters, then move the asterisk to its proper location.

If the normal direction is established by that lower surface, but it should be on a plane offset from that surface then your best bet is to first make the offset plane and select it before selecting the Hole Wizard.

Create an offset plane from your normal surface.  Create your cbore on the new surface.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

Hey All, Your suggestions were a great help! Following what you said, I was able to create a CB hole on an incline surface with ease. Something I have been wanting to do for years but always just changed my design to avoid.

Thanks much!

Apart from method stated above, you can create the sketch inclined and then cut revolve. Though this will not behave as hole wizard feature but sometimes work good and is quick to use.
