Stainless steel slip bands?

Stainless steel slip bands?

Stainless steel slip bands?

(OP)
Hi,
I had read that slip bands in the grains of stainless steel's microstructure is a sign of cold working.  Like to have some advice on the photo-micrograph I had attached.  Are these slip bands?  Will solution annealing remove slip bands?  Cheers!

Hi TVP,
This SS304L stainless steel flange was solution annealed at a temperature of 1050 degree celsius and was held at that temperature for 1 hour.  It was water quenched afterwards.  I used 10% oxalic acid to etch this test specimen.  Thanks!

RE: Stainless steel slip bands?

You should see annealing twins, rather than what looks like a lot of deformation twinning that I see in your micro.
