How to read a vibration analysis report

How to read a vibration analysis report

How to read a vibration analysis report

(OP)
I received a vibration analysis report on gearmotors from a customer.  There are many parameters such as position, direction, location, units, filters, detection.  Also a graph .

Is there any available whitepapers or primers out on the net that I could read prior to calling and asking to speak to the technician concerning the results?  Thanks.

RE: How to read a vibration analysis report

Just a suggestion, repost this in "Mechanical Acoustics/Vibration engineering Forum" and also if you can post the report, maybe others can comment on what you have.

RE: How to read a vibration analysis report

Hi dharhay,

google "commtest vibration primer" the first result is a downloads page.

On that page there is a beginner's guide.
It will help with most of your questions if I remember correctly.

I'm sure other companies have these as well.

Regards, MM
