Pressure reducing valves onhouse connections - wilkens BR4

(OP)

We installed 3/4" Wilkens BR4 pressure reducing valves on house connections. Downstream pressure set at 22 psi. On about 50% of the connections the pressure dropped to about zero the next day. The valves were reset again, but the downstream pressure dropped again after a while. The system was flushed and we are pretty sure that it is not due to dirt getting into the strainer.

Any possible ideas why?
