Pipephase loop network model does not solve

Pipephase loop network model does not solve

Pipephase loop network model does not solve

(OP)
Hi. I have working on a pipephase loop network model for a while now for our system. I think its time to get some outside help. For some reason, I could make it working. The best result that I could get is to make the iteration converge but still the software says "BASE CASE NOT SOLVED". So I am confused now on how to deal with it. I am starting to think that this software is not applicable to this model. FYI: We are using pumps to deliver water to the sink. I think it might have something to do with the configuration of the pumps. I have tried using pump curves but still no effect. I hope I can get a few tips from experts here.

RE: Pipephase loop network model does not solve

If you can post a PID of the configuration of your system and any boundry conditions you have set, it may give us some clues as to why it isn't autoconverging.

RE: Pipephase loop network model does not solve

I saw the title and thought "why is that remarkable?"

Pipephase used to have a bug that had a big bias toward flowing from low numbered nodes to high numbered nodes.  If you numbered your nodes from sink to source you would get really strange answers.  This might be a similar (but more subtle, I think that one got fixed 5 years ago) bug.

adam89, if all else fails, try a tool that will converge for this system smile Such as Korf Hydraulics at www.korf.co.uk (please note that I am involved with it).
