form release agents

I've seen brownish discoloration on the concrete using a vegtable oil based form release agent on a metal mold. Could this be due to excessive use or to a reaction with the previous release? Any comments would be appreciated.

RE: form release agents

I would also look for other, simpler explanations.

Rust on steel form?
Dirt/dust on the pannel prior to applying the release agent?

Does it wash away easily?

Thanks for the comments. I should have mentioned, the form is Aluminum. I didn't observe discoloration or dust before forming the concrete. I'll try washing off, but the concrete appears stained.

RE: form release agents

Do you have any documentation from the supplier/manufacturer of the form release agent which states what type of form it is compatible with or whether the agent is free from staining?
