Opening a part actually opens dozens! How to stop?

Opening a part actually opens dozens! How to stop?

(OP)
I just opened a part that is a casting in an assembly. Well, I say I did. In actual fact I had to wait over five minutes while it opened assembly after assembly and part after part. Clearly these are referenced in some way. Closing them down was a nightmare too and I ended up shutting down SWX.

I have opened loads of other parts and not had this issue. I have looked to see what I need to change to stop it but am not sure.

Any suggestions?

RE: Opening a part actually opens dozens! How to stop?

Somebody mentioned something like this on the SW forum, and it seemed the "fix" was to find an option to "open referenced parts" (or something like) that in the options.  If it doesn't happen at other times, perhaps this is an assembly option you have set (specific to your part or assembly file options) instead of a general system option.

Good luck.

Thanks for all input.

Solution offered up by CBL did the trick. Thanks CBL.
