Finite Element Analysis and Simulation Software

Finite Element Analysis and Simulation Software

(OP)
Hi All,

These days all main software come with lot of additonal modules, or have different modules for different features (the main ones being NEi Nastran, Abaqus, Comsol).

1. Can someone please advise which software have all the features in just one package so that you don't need to run after different modules all the time? Or any module of the above written software which have all the features?

2. Which is the most user friendly of these?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

SubseaDeep

RE: Finite Element Analysis and Simulation Software

If you want software that has all the features then I'm sure the software providers will rub their hands with glee if you just said I'll take the lot. I'd rather pick and choose rather than have something like magnetism thrown in that I will never have any use for yet am supposed to pay for.

Strand7 has all the main options in the basic backage (beam, plate, brick and contact elements, non-linear analysis, buckling analysis, dynamic analysis, thermal analysis) and is very user friendly.

I can't say how it compares with the others, because I haven't used them.

It depends on what you are going to use the sw for. I have used Abaqus and Nastran alot. Personally I think Abaqus is the superior one; better documentation, logical names of keywords, less bugs (my experience).
