Making planes appear within the visible screen

How do I make the three planes visible within the viewing area when I start a new sketch? Right now I have to manually zoom-out to view them.

RE: Making planes appear within the visible screen

Is this the first sketch in a new part?

RE: Making planes appear within the visible screen

It sounds like your question is specific to a particular part template that you are using to start new parts.  It would be hard to address this question without further details.

Right click on a plane in the tree->autosize.

However, like the others have alluded to, more info would help us help you.

Sorry, I was talking about the Front,Top and Right planes when I do the first sketch in a new part. Picking autosize didn't seem to solve the problem. Thank you for the input.

RE: Making planes appear within the visible screen

In that case I agree with fcsuper that this is a part template (.prtdot) issue.

File > Open > your_template_folder > your_part_template
Show the planes and adjust zoom to suit
Save the template

RE: Making planes appear within the visible screen

Start a new sketch. In the left side, click on the planes you want to remain visible, click on "show" (one by one) and they will remain visible until you reverse the command by clicking with right mouse button and select hide. It's the small glasses icon.

RE: Making planes appear within the visible screen

Also make sure they are set to show under View > Planes in SolidWorks.
