Combining multiple rising mains using a manifold

Combining multiple rising mains using a manifold

Combining multiple rising mains using a manifold

(OP)
Hello,

I would like to manifold together four (4) rising mains into a single delivery line.

Each rising main has 1) a different diameter, 2) different flow rate and 3) different maxium head.

What is the best way to evaluate whether or not the system will work hydraulically when all four rising mains are operating?

Thanks!

RE: Combining multiple rising mains using a manifold

Iterate.

1. Assume a flow regime
2. calculate head loss in each pipe segment, including the manifold with the combined flows
3. calculate total head loss for each pump
4. check flow against head on pump curve
5. Adjust flows
6. lather, rinse, repeat.
