14-bit SAR ADC , help needed...

14-bit SAR ADC , help needed...

(OP)
Hi Guys,

I am new to this so please be patient..
I was given the MAX194(maxim) and have to design a 14-bit SAR ADC with simultaneous sampling.

Can someone throw me some light on how to connect it?Do i need to search for driving circuits? This is the first time i work with ADC's, so i don't have much knowledge on the topic. Is there any good reference or design guidelines?

Thank you and i hope somebody will enlight me..

The datasheet?  There's little else we can tell you about hooking up such a simple chip that the datasheet isn't already pretty clear about...

I'm having a tough time imagining a practicing EE not being able to hook up a chip with so few lines and get something basic working...

There used to be a set of articles Microchip that were published in a design magazine.  It looks like they may have been compiled into a two part application note:

http://www.analog2go.com/literature/00924b.pdf
and
http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/21975b.pdf

The articles cover a wide range of subjects from PCB layout considerations to opamp selection based on noise performance, as well as other topics that will be of direct implication to creating an ADC interface.
