Maximum Rebar Spacing

Maximum Rebar Spacing

Maximum Rebar Spacing

(OP)
I'm designing a thick one-way slab per AASHTO LRFD.  I know the ACI requirements, but I can't find anything on maximum rebar spacing with AASHTO.  The owner wants high strength (80ksi) rebar and with 3" of cover (salt water environment), this reduces the maximum allowable spacing to 3.75" under ACI.  I don't want to jeopardize crack control, but I'd like to be consistent in my design references if possible.

Just found the section - Article 5.7.3.4.  Jumped out at me immediately after I posted!  Go figure.
