Natural Gas Facility Emergency Site Egress

Natural Gas Facility Emergency Site Egress

Natural Gas Facility Emergency Site Egress

(OP)
A new (fenced) natural gas facility (compressor station) has a proposed access roadway for the purpose of entering and exiting the plant site. The current site layout places the office facility down-stream of the Class II, Div. 1 compressor building, coolers, separators, etc. and not up-stream near the proposed entrance/exit gate. Having said that, would NFPA require a means of "site egress" for those office personnel located at the other end of the facility where they would be considered trapped in the event of an emergency in the main processing area?
i.e.: an additional access road on the side of the facility where the employee offices are located.
Where would I find this within the IBC and/or NFPA
Thanks!

RE: Natural Gas Facility Emergency Site Egress

There should be two exit points.  There doesn't have to be a road to the second, just a way to get out and get safely way.
