Problem with 2 stage production unit

Problem with 2 stage production unit

Problem with 2 stage production unit

(OP)

I have 2 stage production unit for producing metallic strips. First stage is for the production of countinuous metalic strip. Second stage is for cutting the countinuous strip in equal parts.
Both stages are driven by seperate motors. For a quality cutting process, motion of both stages must be perfectly synchronized.
The cutter moves in 2 axis simultaneously. X axis movement to meet the production flow and Z axis movement for cutting operation.

A problem in quality of cutting process is often experienced. What can be investigated?

Thanks

RE: Problem with 2 stage production unit

What are you asking exactly?

(This sounds like homework.....)

Adriaan.
I am an Engineer/part time student (Mechatronics) from South Africa.
Advice from lecturer: "Be warned - when you go into industry your boss will give you a thousand things to do and he wants them done yesterday!" So far he is right...

I hope that this is a translation issue because this sure sounds like a textbook chapter review wording.
But this is an international forum so I'll cut a little slack.
The fist rule of problem solving is to identify the problem.
What is the exact problem?
