Since many of the folks on this forum are not on the Solid Edge mailing lists, here is the web page for some free training they are putting on.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

Thanks HDS.  I heard there were going to be 17 of these held across the US on various dates.  Definitely sounds like something to attend.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

For what its worth coming from a Siemens guy, these are really supposed to be about being more efficient with SE and building some community, not about marketing.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

Anyone go to a local summit?  I'm curious what people think.

We found the one we went to useful. It was what it said it was a productivity summit not a sales presentation. Got to meet folks from Siemens as well as the VAR. I will recommended it.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

Are there any people from the Huntsville Alabama area going to the summit this Wednesday???? See ya there...

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

Darn - just saw this. We could have hooked you up with one of our modeling experts on that sphere problem of yours. I don't suppose you managed to get help on your own?

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

burhop,
How about getting one of your modelling experts to post a solution to the sphere problem.
Maybe a link to a video or something.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

I think its is more something you have to sit together to do but I'll ask.

RE: Solid Edge productivity summits

I passed the problem around in our planning group and our guy that is working on new patterning functionality came up with this solution:

Unfortunately, we are all running ST3 right now as we get ready to release so I can't post a video or file.  However, the process was this:

1.) Create the first 2x2 square tangent to the surface (easiest to pick a reference play in one of the common planes.

2.) Pattern the square to give you one column of bricks going top to bottom. along the edge.

3.) For each row, pattern the bricks. So, for the bottom 3, you might use the same pattern. For the 4th and 5th brick up, the same pattern, and so on until you get to the top.
