some italy drawings labeling help.

some italy drawings labeling help.

(OP)
labelings on bolts&srew:

ins.maschio M3*6
ins.m.M3*6

pen M*10

ins.femmina.M4
ins.femm.M4
ins.f.M4

what's the difference?

RE: some italy drawings labeling help.

maschio = male = external

femmina = female = internal

pen = ?

RE: some italy drawings labeling help.

femm = abbreviation of femmina

f = abbreviation of femmina

m = abbreviation of maschio

I'd expect anyway.

As for pen, well, maybe it's taking the idea of 'male' a bit far in the literal sense and needs an 'is' on the end to make sens.

What is Engineering anyway: FAQ1088-1484: In layman terms, what is "engineering"?

RE: some italy drawings labeling help.

pen might refer to pentagonale, which is used to describe nuts with a plastic insert.

RE: some italy drawings labeling help.

Penetration?   Of course, that opens the male-female problem already brought up ... 8<)

RE: some italy drawings labeling help.

ins. should be for inserto (insert) and may refer, afaik, to the hexagonal inserts for screwdrivers (but normally with inches dimensions, unless this refers to a tapping tool) or to the threaded inserts used as rivets, but in this case I can't see how it could be with an external (maschio=male) thread.
pen. is likely for penetration, and could be a variant of an insert.
You should better describe your product or supply a reproduction of the label to get more help.
