Network simulation software

Network simulation software

Network simulation software

(OP)
Hi,
I am currently working on Fluid power systems and my compagny asked me to find a network simulation software. Many commercial softwares exist, I have overhear Flowmaster, AMESIM, DYMAOLA, ITISIM,...
Does any of you have comments regarding some of those softs to help me make up my mind (sorry for my english, It is not my native laguage)

Thanks,

RE: Network simulation software

I use flowmaster (but not the fluid power part). I find that the interface is becoming out of fashion and im hoping for an overhaul soon.

But apart from that im pretty satisfied.

Best Regards

Morten

PIPE-FLO from Engineered Software (eng-software.com) is pretty easy to use.

I went to eng-software.com and I have seen PIPE-FLO (this is by the way the first I hear about it). It looks nice for network calculation but it seems to be limited for any component design.
Regarding Flowmaster, I think that this software is adaptated for network simulation and mainly steady-state calculation. Do they have any module to design pump, valve ?
AMESIM seems also to be a good software because it covers most of the physical field and has a very powerfull solver.
You can ask for a free trial for most of these softs. Your problem will be the time you can spend on it. A last thing, you can have a look also to a software named easy5 but I do not know about it.

RE: Network simulation software

I have used AFT Fathom and Impulse for nearly three years now and find the product very flexible to use.

For major installations and projects they have a new package that enables the rationalisation of pumps and pipes to determine the best economic outcome. This is called Mercury.

Look at their website www.aft.com for technical papers and demos.
