WF4 Printing To PDF

WF4 Printing To PDF

WF4 Printing To PDF

(OP)
We just upgraded from WF2 to WF4.  In WF2 we had a PDF icon in the drawing mode that would create a PDF file of the drawing and store it at the location defined at plot_file_directory.  In WF4, the icon is still there but the file creation sequence has been changed.  We now have to tell ProE where to store the PDF.  In addition, there are now many PDF options we have to define that we didn't use to.

Is there a config.pro option for PDF settings and where the PDF files need to be stored?

Thanks in advanced for your help.

RE: WF4 Printing To PDF

After more research, I saw where WF4 creates PDF's using an EXPORT command similar to DXF and IGES.  In WF2, PDF's were created using the plot command and that is why the print_file_directory is no longer valid for PDF file creation in WF4.

So, now I have created a mapkey that creates the PDF per our settings.  Once Adobe opens, we have to use the "Save As" command.

The output is the same but we have to go through a few extra steps.

Thanks for your input.
