Recommendation for a Polymer?

Recommendation for a Polymer?

Recommendation for a Polymer?

(OP)
Hi,
I'm looking for a polymer that will satisfy the following requirements :
1) Flexible enough to wind around a spool with a diameter of, say, 1/2 inch.  Film can be a few mils thick.
2)  Reasonable transparency in the 1-5 micron range (short-IR)
3)  Retains flexiblity between -100 degrees C to +100 degrees C
Thanks in advance

Hi Demon ,

SBS in no good , becuase the max temp is 80°C not in continuons!! the SEBS is little bit better because it can reach 100°C , there is another polymer flexible , if you not FDA request you can use TPV.

Have you considered silicone rubber film?

RE: Recommendation for a Polymer?

Victrex makes  a PEEK coating that comes in a film which you wrap around a part and then put it through a centering process to cure it.  I think they also make a liquid peek option aswell.   In addition you might try Teflon tape?  A company called FAST Houston makes/offers all of these products or services.
