International Contract Work- Need tips

(OP)
Hi everyone.  I was hoping I could get some information on where I could look for short term environmental engineering contract work.  International would be preferred but I am curious about opportunities in the US as well.  I recently got laid off and would like to pursue this avenue.

Thanks in advance!

RE: International Contract Work- Need tips

Many companies out there do a lot of environmental work overseas.  You might want to look at link below - see the "S" and look for (engineering) for one that has offices in many locations world-wide.  There is a fair amount of work going on, I understand, in Indonesia, India and China.  You could also contact, say Professional Engineers Ontario (www.peo.ca and enquire with them about Ontario firms doing environmental work overseas.  The one thing I caution (and I have worked continuously in Asia since 1995 and off-and-on earlier than that) is that at first it might seem an "adventure" but it wears off and you really have to have the psyche to work internationally.  And, not all jobs are Bangkok, Singapore based.  Many are in what we would term the "boonies".
