SCS 24 hrs rainfall distribution??

SCS 24 hrs rainfall distribution??

(OP)
Hello,i really need some help!!!

Does anyone know how the SCS curve type II was elaborated?

Thanks

RE: SCS 24 hrs rainfall distribution??

They were developed by the US Dept. of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, based on historical data in the United States.  I see that you are not in the US, so these data would not be applicable to your area, other than perhaps the shape of the curve.  The Type II curve is based on moderate rainfall amounts and distribution.

Check TR-55, a publication by the USDA-SCS.

Here is a link to relevent portions of the National Engineering Handbook:

http://policy.nrcs.usda.gov/RollupViewer.aspx?hid=17092

Look at Part 630-Hydrology.  There are descriptions of and references to methods used to generate the hydrologic model including rainfall.
