Hola!
Any ideas why I'm losing lines when I enable Background in a section view? The images uploaded display a finished part (hidden lines) within an in-process part.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

What version? And can you post the part or some similar cases in point?

Try decreasing tolerances under the general tab perhaps!

It's ver. 7.0.0.9. We should be getting 7.5 installed this week. Unfortunately at this stage I'm not permitted to supply the file; so far this is the only file behaving like this.
I had played around with the adjacency tolerances from .050 to .0005 with no difference.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

Also try larger tolerance values, seems strange but sometimes increasing the tolerance has a positive effect.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

I can only give you a guess on this one.
If there is a way to put the curves (that are disappearing)on the same plane as the section curves then your problem should be solved - but if I understand this view correctly it doesn't look like that would be an easy task here.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

In drating try right clicking on the view, selecting style, then click the hiddenlines tab, try experimenting ticking some of the options on this tab like self hidden and interfereing solids etc and see if this helps. Just a guess mind without actually seeing the model. smile

I've tried everything suggested, but to no avail.
Thanks anyways.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

Also try doing a geometry check on your part. If you turn up any consistency or self intersection errors on your model, the drawing may behave strangely.

RE: Curves disappearing when Background is ON in Section View

just another guess:
view style > general > extracted edges > toggle between "associative" and "none"

My bad. I missed JCBCad's suggestion.
In View Styles, the Hidden Lines tab, setting Interfering Solids from "None" to "Yes, Without Inteference Curves" seems work.
Thanks!
