looking for a lightweight low pressure valve with fast response time
looking for a lightweight low pressure valve with fast response time
(OP)
have a project for a hand held unit that needs a "burst" of air, the pressure should be limited to about 30PSIG. and can use 120V AC or any DC, 12, 24, etc..
however we need a CV of about .4 but something closer to .8 would allow for using 2 instead of 4 valves.
we are also looking for a quick response time, the faster the better, something like 5-10ms
1/4" NPT would be best but 1/8 or 3/8 is also OK.
also needs to be off the self as we only 2-6 of them
we have been using some high speed ASCO valves, ~5ms response with a ~.88 CV, and it works great! But they weigh about 2lb and are rated for 600PSIG (over kill) we would really like to find something smaller and lightweight.
Thanks!

of course the burst we need isnt %100 known yet, once it is, ill double check on fuel injectors.
from what ive seen the domestic irrigation solenoids are often quite large? but its been awhile sense ive seen them in person. there cheap enough ill probly pick one up to find out its response time.
compositepro, would you have some more info on the quick-exhaust valves? as they seem very much what im looking for, however a Google search didn't return what you are describing.
Thanks for all the suggestion and help!

In a quick exhaust valve the diaphragm or spool opens completely and very rapidly as soon as the pilot pressure drops below the inlet pressure.
