ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

(OP)
i am getting this error when trying to run an analyis
***ERROR: VALUE FOR PARAMETER ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS
does anyone know how to solve this?

RE: ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

In your inp file you have probably got a line ending:

...elset=some_element_set_name

but you have omitted the asterisk in the keyword on the next line. For example the line starts "element" rather than
"*element"

RE: ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

Do you have ELSET names longer than 80 characters?

RE: ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

(OP)
i had patterned a part about 60 times so it name came up rad1-rad1-pso1 pos1 and the names of the final patterned parts had names longer than 80 characters

RE: ELSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS

Aww. That seems just painful. You need to shorten those a bit, if not to alleviate the error, but just for the sake of cleanliness.
