Flat pattern

Flat pattern

Flat pattern

Hi,
I can't able to flat pattern this part.
Half part yes, but with mirror features and unite feature, no.
I don't understand where is the problem.

Thank you...

Using NX7.0 and TC8.1

RE: Flat pattern

Apply "convert to sheet metal" and then you can have both the flat pattern and the flat solid.

Hi frankbe,
your solution works fine, but I would like to know why doesn't flat pattern.

Thank you...

RE: Flat pattern

I think uniting the 2 bodies or features (I tried mirror body too) looses the sheet metal information. By re-applying sheet metal to the body the turns out OK. Just a guess.

RE: Flat pattern

It actually appears to be the way to do it if you read the help file. Just look for "Mirroring NX Sheet Metal parts" and you will see how and why.

I'm going to file an ER to create a specific "mirror sheet metal body" function to make life easier.
