bearing distrubution below steel beam

bearing distrubution below steel beam

bearing distrubution below steel beam

(OP)
I have a steel beam bearing directly onto a concrete slab which is supported at its mid point and subject to an upward vertical force at the end. Q: How do I determine the bearing stress for the section that bears onto the concrete? I have attached a diagram, hopefully, this is helpful.

RE: bearing distrubution below steel beam

In the first site below, go to Beams -> Elastic foundation -> Support-free -> Conc.moment or Supported-free beam: on elastic foundation: concentrated moment.
You'll be able to experiment for different foundation moduli: it's all a matter of ratio of support stiffness to beam stiffness for going from a built-up cantilever to an elastically fixed one.
