(OP)
I'm tasked with designing a large diameter seal for a chamber that needs to be opened quickly by operators.

I've been looking at designs like those on autoclaves (the red round design):

I think this style works best, does anyone else have any other ideas?

Pressure is 60 psi, diameter is about 27inches.

I'm assuming that i can put a small taper on each of the teeth to help form compression. I'd appreciate it if you can give me any tips regarding the design of this.

Thanks!

RE: large diameter chamber seal

I need to know more operating conditions.  Media and temperature.  I would suggest a spring energized seal or a simple rubber O-Ring.  Like I said it depends on temperature range and media.
