RE: DraftSight

Its funny that legitimate Autocad equivalents are available for free... and that autodesk is still trying to sell it.

Dustin, yeah it is...isn't it?

Did you download and test drive? It seems it has some solidworks functionality in functions. It's pretty cool!

RE: DraftSight

Actually, Autodesk didn't win a lawsuit against SolidWorks.  They almost lost it.  SolidWorks settled with some rather unimportant concessions just to close the issue.  Autodesk still cannot claim ownership of DWG as a trademark or a file format name.

RE: DraftSight

DraftSight is nice, but I have no use for it.
If I need something in 2D, which is rare, I'll create it in SolidWorks. I like using only one CAD program.

RE: DraftSight

I don't think it's that great.  Dwgeditor does the same thing as Draftsight.

RE: DraftSight

I tried to run the downloaded file and got a W7 error message, "Requires Elevation."
Apparently I am not administrator enough to use this . winky smile

RE: DraftSight

Our manufacturing engineer started using it.  Likes it better than the other knock-offs he has used.

RE: DraftSight

I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask a question re: DraftSight or not but here goes.
Anyone know how to get shut snap off so that mouse will move smoothly and be capable of stopping on a line or point?
Thank You in advance
