Need help removing a feature from .step import

I am wondering if anyone can help me remove the feature cirlced in red in the screen shot attached. I am looking to make it flush with the face that it is on. The file was imported to solidworks from a .step format so it considers it to be part of the entire piece. I am relatively new to solidworks so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try delete face with the patch option.  I hope this helps.

When I go to delete anything it wants to delete the whole model. Other ideas? or am I missing something? Thank you!

Just chop  it off! You can do a rotated cut if this is a cylindrical form.

Delete the curved face.  Then make a sketch on the flat face and cut the remaining tab off.  Then do a fill surface.

If I try to delete the face or anything else it deletes the entire object

From the flat surface of the boss, you could do a cut-extrude "up to surface," terminating on the cone shaped surface.
