Mate Issues SW2010 SP2.1

Mate Issues SW2010 SP2.1

Mate Issues SW2010 SP2.1

(OP)
Hello all,
I am just about ready to toss the monitor across the room.  I am having the issues with mates that just do not make any sense.

I have an assembly that consists of a shaft, shaft key, nut, washer, etc.  When I mate the end face of the key with the face of the shaft it locks it in place (one mate).  The key still has the (-) in front in the stating that it is not fully constrained.  If I try to add any other mate to it, it goes red.  Even with just one mate I can not drag the key in any direction, even directions that are not mated.

I am hoping that this is not an isolated issue because if it is I do not know what to try next.

Thanks,
BB

BB,

Check to see if you have any in-context relationships, particularly inside sketches.  For instance, is the keyway defined by the key?  These will not only act as mates, but can really mess with your head when it gets to affecting the geometry.

Hi Updraft, none of those relationships exist.  The key is not the only part acting this way.  It also seems to be happening with a set screw.

Well, after closing everything and clearing the local cashe things seem to be back to the normal, thanks.
