Units ?

Units ?

(OP)
Hi there I'm new to ansys. my problem is to get always the same warning :
" In Analysis 'Flow Analysis 1': Unit conversions will not be applied to data transferred between the solvers. To enable these conversions, select a pre-defined system of solution
units for the ANSYS solver using the /UNITS command in the Input File."

How can I manage this ?
Thanks for help !

bye

RE: Units ?

Hi, Quotenkrueppel!

If you use /UNITS command (access Help to see description of command) Ansys will use a predefined system of units.
Otherwise, you should assure consistency over your analysis (analyses if couple-field analysis performed - I assume that you used ansys in connection with a CFD solver, possible CFX) - and the Ansys message warn you about this.

My advice is either 1 or 2 (preferable in this order especially if you are not an advanced user):

1. Use a predefined (standard) system of units by intermediate of /UNITS command and be sure that all input values are consistent with this system.

2. Use a customary system of units but only if you are sure that is consistent and that you understand completely what units will have the obtained results.

Success!

Juzz
