Stirrer Design Query

Stirrer Design Query

Stirrer Design Query

(OP)
Want to design a stirrer with a propeller to achieve best mixing and create max downward thrust to push mixture towards a discharge port @ the base of the vessel.

Any recommendations on optimum shape incl. contact angles of fins with shaft?

RE: Stirrer Design Query

I'd suggest you mess around with the information you'll find at Chemineer.

Lots of different prop designs, it depends on what you're mixing, and what you're trying to accomplish.

Mixture of polymer & water in autoclave (same densities). Ultimate aim is to push the mixture down & out from a discharge valve @ the bottom. Need a propeller design which would facilitate the same.
