Safety factors in Russian Code
Safety factors in Russian Code
(OP)
Hi all
I'm currently working on projects in Russia. One question concerns the safety factors in the Russian code. They are typically called "gamma-f" but I have also seen "n" being used.
I have the SNiP code and the factors are usually between 1.0 and 1.4 with 1.4 for wind load. But I can't find any gamma-f for snow. In calculations I have seen 1.0 and 1.6 being used but no reference to the code.
Obviously a factor 1.0 or 1.6 for snow load makes a difference. Is anybody familiar with the SNiP code and know the correct value and paragraph. Both values can be correct since they are for different locations and snow zones but I need to know.
Any help is appreciated
Thomas

RE: Safety factors in Russian Code
I use this old tread for an additional question regarding the Russian codes.
I have the code and have figured out how to use it. The problem is that I have a english translation and some of the figures are of poor quality. I have heard that the code (in Russian)sholud be available for free (completely legal) from a Russian site.
Does anybody have the adress to that site?
