Harsh enviornment motor indexing app

Harsh enviornment motor indexing app

(OP)
Hello All,

I have a motor indexing application that will reside in a very hot and wet environment.  The application calls for both the X and Y axis to index at set increments (1"-3") in both directions.  What I am looking for is different motors that would be best suited for this type of environment and perform these types of continuous position moves.  I am wanting to rule out servo motors because of the cost.

Some system specs:
-Accuracy should be .125" over 60"span.
-Speed should be near 2 seconds per index
-Load is 50lbs
-Motor should be rated for IP65 or greater degree of protection
-Index moves range from 1"-3"
-During a complete usage each axis would be required to perform numerous index moves (250/axis/day)

This application will probably require closed loop control, this is obvious, but what I am struggling with is narrowing down the motor selection that will survive this usage and environment.

Any thoughts?
