All,

My company is about to upgrade from NX4 to NX6 in a Teamcenter managed environment.

We are going to re-file our NX data in order to upgrade the parts & to regenerate the lightweight bodies to get the maximum benefit from the new JT format of the lightweight body.

We have been performing various trials with the 'ugmanager_refile' utility trying different strategies.

We are going to refile targeted data at an item revision level. This means that we will be re-filing several hundred thousand item revisions (noting that some item revisions contain a UGMASTER and a UGPART, so lots of processing), in batches of 1000 item revisions.

On the whole the re-file utility works quite well however, we are experiencing fatal errors with the utility.  Typically these errors occur with a fail on one of the item revisions, which cases the rest of the input list to then falsely fail with the same error.

We also have situations where the utility hangs with no log etc.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, what did you do to negate the problems?

Any advice is welcome,

Cheers,

NXj
