Clone Assembly

Clone Assembly

Clone Assembly

(OP)
Hi All,

I would like to clone full assembly with same part names in another directory. When I go for cloning it always asks for prefix, suffix ,replace or rename.
Is anyone knows to clone same assembly with same part names.
Please suggest?

RE: Clone Assembly

You really don't need to clone here.
When you are in the top-level assembly, just do: File > save as > New name in new directory
and you should be fine . . .  unless I am missing something.

Don't forget to put what version of NX your are using.

RE: Clone Assembly

jerry,
That will put the assembly file in the new directory but will not take the components with it. I think the OP is asking how to copy the entire assembly (assembly file and all component files) to a new folder.

Thanks all.
Now it works by using space as suffix.

RE: Clone Assembly

Defintely check Cowski's post out.

UG Zip is the tool you want. I use it all the time to ditch orpaned parts and junk files from the project folder.

No better way but Seimens probably should have deployed a native tool for this a long time ago.
