Dear members
My vendor is offering the Body Gas test as per API 6A PSL 3G in which the method to detect the leak is by sniffing probes over the areas of leakage suspected. but in case of API 6A referring the Test shall be conducted in submerged water bath .whether the method suggested by my vendor is acceptable.

RE: Valve testing as per API 6A PSL 3G

You are correct. API-6A states to test the equipment completely submerged in a water bath. Testing a valve using nitrogen without being submerged in a water bath is dangerous.
