Modify imported part

Hi,
with ST command I can't able to modify the position of a hole.
Can you help me with ST command ?
The problem is that the distance is 49.85854554 and I would like 49.8.

Thank you...

Using NX7.0 and TC8.1

RE: Modify imported part

The question doesn't make sense since the axes of the holes are approx 29.8 apart?

Because the hole must ride on a diameter circle of 49.8 mm, but the hole is not on this circle and when I make the assembly constraints, the difference make a touch / align error.

Thank you...

RE: Modify imported part

There are other ways to align parts in an assembly.  Besides, if your manufacturing tolerance is anything greater than 0.05mm than this model would pass QA/QC.  And if that's the case, then perhaps it would be easier to just move the large hole and leave the smaller one where it is.

But why can't he move the hole in the imported part?

RE: Modify imported part

Have you tried?  It's 'linked' to dozens of faces all of which would have to update to move the hole less than 0.05mm.  Synchronous is good, but it can't perform miracles.

RE: Modify imported part

Diameter! DIAMETER! Please give us a break and describe the radius.

Apart from that there was a problem with the model in that some tiny sliver faces existed outside of the blend tangents to the outer faces and I simply found it necessary to get rid on them and reapply blends later on. On ideal geometry the solution is a sketch and a move face. You don't even have to go into History free mode for that wink

See model attached. Solution QED!

RE: Modify imported part

Hudson, be careful, the sides of the model has a 0.5° draft so do NOT place the sketch on the 'vertical' face because it's not vertical and therefore it's NOT normal to the axis of the holes.

RE: Modify imported part

No it bisects the two angled faces and as such in this case is normal to the axes of the holes.

Hi Hudson,
the part goes well.
Thank you.
I've understand that sometimes are better different strategies.

Thank you...
