I'm confused on how exactly to determine compression or consolidation ratios or indices using a strain-LogP graph.  Then how the ratios or indices should be used for consolidation estimates.  I've read Bowles' discussion, and am not yet "getting it."  Also, generating the ordinate (Log e) of Bowles' four cycle log plot totally confuses me.  BigH has recommended log-log strain v. pressure plots, but I'm very fuzzy on the specific details of this plot generation.  

Besides Bowles, the books I've looked at concentrate on typical void ratio v. pressure plots.  Could anybody please provide other references for the above methods?  Thank you so much.

In strain-logp', the slope of the lines, instead of being Cc and Cr as in e-logp', gives directly Cc/(1+eo) and Cr/(1+eo).  No need to estimate eo (hence, no need for Gs).  I suggested loge-logp' (I think I had reversed it previously although it wouldn't make any difference in a log-log plot).
