SW 2010 enabled my openGL ?

SW 2010 enabled my openGL ?

SW 2010 enabled my openGL ?

The Use Software OpenGL option has been enabled because of a recent configuration change. Click Connect for more information.

THis morning, I fired up SW and got the above message. I went to device manager and it said that my Quadro 1700 was working correctly. Any ideas? I didnt do any recent config changes, so Im not sure what this message is refering to. THanks

RE: SW 2010 enabled my openGL ?

Check the RealView Graphics mode first. OpenGL software acceleration works by default when the SW doesn't "see" the proper GPU drivers. The same happens if the OS forces it's own drivers for the GPU, but then, it's a slim chance you'll be able to use RealView within SW. It happened to me. With Quadro FX3400 and MS drivers, the RealView was disabled and OpenGL enabled. Once I downloaded and forced on the nVidia drivers, the RealView got enabled and the tickbock for OpenGL was empty. Later, after cleaning the registry, at next system start, both the GPU and monitor drivers were replaced with MS drivers and SW was forced to use the OpenGL again. The Quadro drivers were there, but signed by MS. Reinstalling the nVidia and ViewSonic drivers got the things back to where they should be, SW works properly without the need for OpenGL software acceleration. I'm on MSWin7 & SW2010.

the realview graphics mode is diabled and I cannot access it. I assume there is no place in options to change realview? Its weird that everything works fime one day and them bam....the next day..not so much. Maybe I will have to download the latest video drivers form the SW website?

RE: SW 2010 enabled my openGL ?

I have seen this happen after I have connected to the computer using Remote Desktop.  It has gone back to normal after a reboot.

As it was in my case. Download the drivers from nVidia site, save (wherever you are used to do that - downloads, temp etc) and start the installation file with the "run" command, otherwise, windows (Vista/Seven) might refuse to obey (such commands do require administrative privileges)... Follow the instructions and that should be it. After restart, the OpenGL should not be checked and RealView should work.
