China Manufacturing Licence - Expiration

China Manufacturing Licence - Expiration

(OP)
Hi All

This is my first time posting, but been browsing for a while now and its a very impressive forum indeed :)

My company has recently sent an enquiry to a supplier for some China M work, I have been doing a bit of digging and I have found out that there current certificate expires the 12th July 2010, they have re-assured us that they will be renewing it but we are a bit worried.

If we place an order with this company and they start manufacturing the Pressure Vessels and then their Licence expires (they decide not to renew it) can they continue to manufacture the items since they were approved at the time of  receiving the contract?

Any help would be great, I know very little indeed about China M and I have struggled finding anyone in the UK I could discuss this with.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Chris

Can you advise what "China M work" is?

Sorry

It is the Boiler and Pressure Vessel, China Manufacturing Licence.

RE: China Manufacturing Licence - Expiration

The answer is NO.

In China, if a pressure vessel manufacturer fails to renew its license then it is not allowed to continue to make the licensed product after the expiration date, period. They even issue an official 'disqualification' notice when they find out some one's license has expired.

Normally it is required to submit renewal request 6 months prior to the license expiration date. I hope your supplier is working diligently on this.

RE: China Manufacturing Licence - Expiration

Hi,

It is wrote in the procedures of manufacturing licensing:

"The Manufacture License is valid within four years beginning from the date of issuance. The license
holder should apply for license renewal in writing to the Safety Supervision Department directly under AQSIQ or
Provincial Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau six months ahead of the expiry of its Manufacture License, if
the license holder wants to maintain continuously a valid Manufacture License after expiration."

So I would be a little worried also. They should have already applied for license renewal.

RE: China Manufacturing Licence - Expiration

Chris: I'm not really familiar with the China manufacturing License but I think the important date is the date when the vessel will leave manufacturer's factory. Example: Their license will expire July 12. If they shipped the vessel July 11th, everything should be fine. But what if they are delayed? I wouldn't take the risk but just want to add my comments.
