I have a 90 kw blower what size pipe should i use on a waste water treatment plant.(aeration)

RE: pipe size

Use a 90 kW pipe, of course.

Gotta give us something more than that to go on.

RE: pipe size

3/4" might work.

RE: pipe size

wouldn't you determine the flow rate, pressure drop and size the pipe before selecting the blower?

I have a 4 cylinder automobile what size beam should I use on a bridge?

RE: pipe size

I have some ocean front propert in Arizona for sale. Good price. Ill even throw in the Golden Gate bridge for free.

I can't take credit for that paraphrased quote. Thank's George Strait.

RE: pipe size

To elaborate on what is missing (and what is causing the humorous replies), what is the maximum discharge pressure your blower can tolerate?  How much air does it move at that pressure? How far is it from the blower to the water you're aerating?  How deep under the pond are you wanting the blower to be?

With that data many people on eng-tips.com would be happy to give you a minimum pipe size.  Without all of that data please expect to continue to get inventive, but irrelevant, answers.

RE: pipe size

Then again, a 3/4 inch pipe might not work.

But it would be less expensive than something else.  Does cost matter?

RE: pipe size

Racookpe,
My experience says that there are few things in this world more expensive than the wrong pipe size.  You are either paying for your "savings" on pipe that is too small by increased hp requirements forever; or you are paying for pipe too big in initial investment, increased corrosion from water standing in gas lines, or increased hp required from water standing.

I had a boss once who said "'easy' means that 'someone else has to do it'".  Way too many folks (talking about the OP here, not you) are pretty sure that piping is "easy" and don't figure it out before they purchase their 90 kW blower.

RE: pipe size

Good words.  Good advice.

RE: pipe size

We need more info. as those suggested by cvg Prov1 in light of the fact that someone must have figured them inorder to have this 90 KW blower.
