Suppress component and relative mating

Suppress component and relative mating

Suppress component and relative mating

(OP)
Hi,
when I suppress a component I would like that the relative mating will suppress, but not.
There is an option or I need to suppress each mating ?
If I don't suppress the mating, errors are showed in the constraints folder and it's a problem because the user don't understand if errors are relative a problem or to suppress component.

Thank you...

RE: Suppress component and relative mating

I think if you go to the component and override constraints then that may fix it. If you're still using mating conditions then something similar is available.

Isn't it about time you posted with your NX version and all the relevant information.

Hi Hudson,
sorry to forget info.
I'm using NX7 and the assembly is new with all 'Assembly Constraints'.
As the attached image I constrained some component and after suppressed.
I would like that, as in NX3, when I suppress component, the relative constraints will suppress.
It's an option, it's impossible or I need to suppress/de-select manually ?

Thank you...

RE: Suppress component and relative mating

You could create an Arrangement and in this arrangement certain Components and their Constraints could be made Arrangement specific so that as you switched from one Arrangement to the other, everything would be as you would like it to be.

Hi John,
your solution works fine, but I need to add an extra arrangement.
One arrangement with components unsuppressed and one arrangement with component suppressed.
This components are '...Reference-Only' and only used for positioning fasteners or accessories.

Our BOM structure is :
1) Sheet metal machine
2) Assembly of screws
2) Assembly of accessories

As you can see from our BOM structure, to create the screws assembly or accessories, I need to add the sheet metal machine as '....Reference-Only' and suppress it.

Thank you...

Thank you...
