Air flow through heat exchangers in series/parallel

Air flow through heat exchangers in series/parallel

I have 2 heat exchangers mounted in series (HE1 and HE2).  The first in the air stream does not fulley cover the second.  So, some of the air passes over both heat exchangers and some only over the second.  would like to determine how much flow is going through each heat exchanger.

Thinking about analyzing this problem as parallel flow, 2 paths) 1 path with pressure loss from HE1 and HE2 ... the second path with pressure loss from HE2 since some air will flow around HE1 becuase higher resistance in that path. Any suggestions on how to do this.

The air flow will equalize based on pressure drop across the respective bundles.  In other words, the pressure drop of the air passing through the ends of the long bundle (single flow) will equal the pressure drop of the air passing through the two bundles together, double flow.

Do you have any tools like HTRI to use?  If I had to do this, I'd set it up in HTRI and solve it that way.
