"trash pump" manufacturer?
(OP)
I need to find a "trash pump" with 3-4" intakes.
I will mate the pump to a submersible electric motor.
Essentially, we are making a submersible vacuum cleaner intended to gather accumulated debris in a large pipe. Fluid is water, debris is sand, pebbles and twigs.
any leads on manufacturers?
thanks in advance.

we have the motor in-house; we only need the pump, not the prime mover. I talked with a local distributor, and they told me that most manufacturers do not sell the pump head separately from the mover. I am hesitant in purchasing a full unit and de-coupling the pump from its motor, as pump specs (RPM, shaft reqs etc) will not be published for a consolidated unit.
the unit that we are making will be operated in a down-hole, ~2000 feet long, and full of water. we are powering it with ~3000V, 3 phase power. there will be an ROV controlling the "business end" of the vacuum cleaner hose.

We have a 2 phase, 3000V 20 HP electric submersible motor. shaft turns at 3600 rpm.
I would like to locate and price a 3"-4" pump that is capable of handling sand, stones and twigs. Our client would like to remove the items from a location deep within a large vertical pipe containing freshwater. They asked us to build a "vacuum cleaner" for them. The pump will discharge into a multi-stage filter which will gather the sediment for disposal. Intake lines will be up to 10' long, and exhaust will be about the same.
the great thing about this application is that cavitation on the intake is not a big issue as the ambient pressure will be several hundred psi.
cheers
