Intermittent ON/OFF performance of 70W HPS lighting fixture

Intermittent ON/OFF performance of 70W HPS lighting fixture

Intermittent ON/OFF performance of 70W HPS lighting fixture

(OP)
hi,

we use philips advance HPS lamp ballast (control gear) with catalog number 71A79N1.
the lighting fixture brand is Appleton 70W hps E-27 lamp holder.

when we use this control gear to E-27 lamp holder and GE lamp PN: LU70/90/MO/D/I/27, why the lamp turns ON for 10 minutes and after that intermittently ON & OFF.

GE lamp turns OFF and after 10 seconds (approx) it will turn ON for 1 minute (approx) then OFF again for 10 seconds and ON again for a minute.

the same performance for PHILIPS lamps with PN: SON/70W/E
appleton engineer/tech support didn't provide the solution. they tested by themselves at memphis/illinois, USA and the same output as we tested here in bangkok. thailand.

1. how and why this intermittent ON & OFF performance of the lamp happens.
2. will you please provide us the right lamp type to use with this philips advance (71A79N1) control gear.

guys, please help me and suggest the right lamp (brand/part number) for this.

i cpntacted philips advance but no respond yet. hope to find quicker responce from you guys.

I've seen this in parking lots. I always assumed it was a bad bulb. But maybe it has to do with the starting circuit.
