Block Edit in NX6

Block Edit in NX6

Block Edit in NX6

(OP)
When double-clicking a block on the screen to edit its dimensions, it becomes invisible while the edit dialog shows up...
Is it a normal behaviour into NX6?

If doing a select>Edi Parameters, the block remain visible but I can't see any visual dimensions on it like in NX4...

Any comments welcome.

RE: Block Edit in NX6

No it is not normal to do that.
Maybe the selection color that is set the same color that your background is, and they are blending together when the body is selected.
Either try changing your background color, or selection color, to see if that fixes it.

RE: Block Edit in NX6

Yes, that IS the 'normal' behavior.

The so-called 'primitive' features, such as Block, Cylinder, Sphere, Cone, all behave in this manner because when CREATING them there is NO 'preview' mode.  When you do an 'Edit with Roll-Back', what we do is take you back to the state of the model at the point in which you were adding the feature being edited and place you in the same 'preview' mode that you were in when you originally created the feature, but since there is NO 'preview' mode for a Block (or those other 'primitive' features) there is nothing that we can show you.

Note that there has been proposals to take the creation of the 'primitive' features to the next level of 'modern' behavior (note that 'primitives' just recently become fully parametric so we are heading in that direction) and implement a 'preview' mode and so if we do this will also change what you see when performing an 'Edit with Roll-Back'.

I guess I haven't worked with primatives for a while, so I assumed something was goofy
